Madeira marked my first completely solo trip. Before embarking on my trip to Asia without a return flight, I decided to test the waters of solo travel with a small 10-day tour of Madeira. This island is something extraordinary: breathtaking views and enchanting waterfalls proved to be just the beginning.

Despite its relatively small size, Madeira offers a diversity of landscapes that leaves one speechless, and the excursions it offers are simply incomparable.

No place could have been better for my first solo trip. Madeira captured my heart with its beauty and welcoming atmosphere. Every step along the island’s trails was a new discovery, confirming to me that the decision to travel solo was the perfect choice.

Now, when I think of Madeira, I am reminded not only of the extraordinary landscapes, but also of the feeling of having found my place in the world, if only for those 10 unforgettable days.
