Vietnam is difficult to express in a single word; it is a kaleidoscope of nuances, a country that defies easy definition. It is hustle and bustle, with its chaotic streets and mopeds whizzing through the rushing traffic. It is street food cooked under very different hygienic conditions than ours, giving unique and authentic flavors. Yet at the same time, it is unspoiled nature, rice fields stretching to the horizon, majestic waterfalls and caves that are among the largest in the world.

Vietnam is an adventurous experience in the mountains, a journey that makes you breathe in the essence of a country that reveals itself little by little, amid the indelible smiles of the local people. The language barrier and the myriad problems this entailed made my trip to Vietnam a somewhat difficult undertaking, but it was these contrasts that made Vietnam extraordinarily special.

It’s a country that leaves no one indifferent: you either love it or hate it. But those who can get past the appearance, dig deeper, discover its sheer beauty. Vietnam is a mosaic of emotions and experiences, a journey that unravels between contrasts, between chaos and tranquility, between the nuances of street food and the grandeur of its natural wonders.
